The commission is here to serve lottery operators, Players and the public; to bring fair play, honesty, Integrity and transparency into the lottery business.
National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC) was established by the National Lottery Act 2005 and signed into Law on the 30th March, 2005. It is a corporate body with perpetual succession and common seal.
It is headed by a Director-General appointed by the president subject to the confirmation of the senate. It also has a Governing Board which has overall control of the commission.
National Lottery Regulatory Commission started its full operation in 2009 when the then President made Chief Peter Igho, the Director-General.
His initial mission was to change the negative perception people have about ”Lottery”, to make people see it as a way of raising funds for Good causes.
With the present leadership, the commission has continued to play its regulatory role with a new zeal, through the deployment of leading technologies, effective management of materials and human resources for optimal realization of its mandate.
The commission is here to serve lottery operators, players and the public; to bring in fair play, honesty, integrity and transparency into the lottery business.
The commission is set out to regulate the operation and business of national lottery in Nigeria.
